UK Skin Cancer and Melanoma Patients

Hi all i was diagnosed on Friday with a melenoma on my upper right arm. The mole was very small, but the colouring was wrong. I have now got to go to see a plastic surgeon for a deeper inspection. Please can anyone shed me any light on what to expect as for obvious reasons i am very scared. 41 year old mother of two.

Mandy - Firstly - Hello.
Secondly - Might I suggest you repost this the "General Info" section as thats where most users will see your post.

Thirdly - Phew - Im not surprised your petrified hunny, thats one Heck of a big shock. The main thing the plastic surgeon may do is a further excision of the area where the mole is/was. This may well leave a scar, but there are others who can give you more insight into this than me. You are being treated promptly, and your melanoma was found early from the sounds of it, so thats a big positive. Im sure others will be along shortly to give you more in depth info. x
