UK Skin Cancer and Melanoma Patients

Hiya
My name is andrea and I'm 32 years old. I had a maligament melonoma removed from my left thigh in 1996/1997. I am left with a 3 inch scar.

I have been getting a few pains and aches around the area and I'm worried that it might have come back.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about reacurring melanoma and if it comes back, is the area painful?

HI Andrea, sorry to welcome you to the forum.

Most people here seem to post/look at the general information section of the forum, so you might want to repost there.

I've had recurring Melanoma, but never painful. (Well, technically the last bout was, as it has gone to the bones, but that is really really unlikely).

However, it can come back years and years after the primary, so you might want to chase it up with your doctor. Mine came back after 16 years, as a lump on the back of my neck, and my GP immediately got me in to see the relevant Melanoma chappy. If you can feel any lumps then certainly go straight to your doctor.
