Hi... My husband had a malignant melanoma removed from his neck in March, at the same time he also had a sentinal node biopsy which came back clear and we were assured it is the most accurate testing available. Unfortunately he now has an ever increasing swelling under his scar and a lump about 5cm away from the original mole site. He was waiting for a scan and ultrasound but after seeing his consultant again he was told it definately had to be removed and this time the incision will run from above his ear, down to his collar bone and then back up to just under his chin...Is this a neck dissection??? He is also now experiencing pain and numbness in his shoulder and arm on the same side as the swelling. Going into hospital on Thursday but any information before then would be very much appreciated.
Thank you
Debi
