Hiya Myra,
Well I think there is always cause for concern when a mole changes, bleeds or ulcerates, Im hoping that I am not alarming you, but your hospital appoinment is only 10 days away, and hopefully they should know more when you see the specialist. I think it may be of help to you to prepare for the fact that they may remove the mole there and then, as they will be able to perform an examination of the mole under a microscope, to establish a definitive diagnosis. When I first visited the skin specialist, this was something that no one had warned me about so I was shocked and worried to say the least , when he told me that he was removing it immediately. Had I had known I would have taken a friend with me, and possibly not taken my 14 month old baby with me, ( I was also pregnant at the time)....there were some lovely nurses there who supported me and looked after Sarah !
I wish you all the very best and let me know how you get on...we have all been through what you are going through, and can say hand on heart that we truly understand how you feel.
Take care and kind regards
Sue
